D.G. Lampaulus's fourth novel, "Deed of Genesis," revolves around the creators of two parallel universes: the Holy Trinity, a triune deity of light, and the Asura King Rahu. The narrative unfolds based on the covenant established by these divine beings at the inception of the universe, giving rise to a suspenseful and fantastical tale.
The excessive development of modern technology has led humanity to misuse it and excessively pursue materialistic goals. This prompted the author to contemplate the pursuit of spirituality and the overall elevation of human consciousness. The impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war have also left the author reflecting on the unpredictable nature of life and the existence or absence of a spirit of commitment. In the midst of significant societal changes, does the cherished spirit of the rule of law, upon which we heavily rely, still endure? As nations compete and maneuver to achieve their interests, resorting to any means necessary, one may question the persistence of the universal values we once held dear.
Another theme revolves around the inevitability of fate. Despite our belief that we can control everything, the reality is that there are many uncertainties, forcing us to act in accordance with the arrangements of fate. Much like the title "Deed of Genesis" suggests, with the establishment of a covenant, even the creators cannot act entirely according to their own will, as at times it seems that the course of destiny is preordained.
The book also delves into the theme of "equivalent exchange." How did angels fall and become demons? They utilized the Devil's Dagger to stab their own core, selling their souls to Asura in exchange. It can be considered a form of equivalent exchange. But how splendid is the existence of an angel? To willingly abandon such a sacred status and fall, showcasing that even angels harbor desires. We can understand this through Lucifer's journey, realizing that sometimes we prefer to succumb to our desires, which is quite normal for humanity. Thus, within our hearts, there is always a psychological battle between an angel and a devil.
How pristine would it be if the heavenly realm could remain untainted? However, the introduction of colossal beasts in the story disrupts the tranquility and serenity of the heavenly kingdom. Perfection in all things may eventually lead to another extreme. If we can embrace the imperfections of all things, we will perceive a subtle beauty within the realm of regrets. This is the way of Yin and Yang, where the interplay of positive and negative energies ultimately finds balance, representing the governing principle of all existence.
The human body itself is a universe, and the transformations within our bodies mirror the cycles of nature—a universal interconnectedness. If we can perceive this, it becomes easier to enter the realm of spirituality. It goes beyond living in the realm of the self, transitioning into a state of the greater self, ultimately achieving the state of "oneness of heaven and man." Not only are we a part of the universe, but we are also a universe in ourselves, embodying the laws of all things. Understanding this, we can learn to listen to the voice within, act based on our inner decisions, and forge our own path. This is one of the messages the author aims to convey through this book.
